Bubble and Pool Fun with Nana and Papa!

It was another beautiful day today - hot and sunny! Hannah and I were busy during the day but the warmth continued into the evening so I decided to fill up her little pool and let her splash around after supper. We called Nana and Papa to see if they were free and they were so they came over and joined in the fun. Only one little girl was in the pool but somehow all 4 of us ended up wet! :o)

She really likes playing with her watering can and Papa's help made it even better! She doesn't mind getting her head and face wet and often put her head under the falling water.

We also pulled out the bubbles which Hannah thought were great! We'd only played with bubbles one other time so it's a new treat for her and she really enjoyed them. She's also learned how to sign and say bubble. Her language is exploding and she's saying new words every single day!!

Thanks for coming over to play Nana and Papa!!

Enjoying Our New Space!

Hannah and I are thoroughly enjoying the courtyard and all that it offers. It's like a whole new room has been added to our home!

Last week a friend came over whom I met 4 years ago at an agency picnic when we were both waiting for our precious daughters from China. Since then Jill and her hubby were blessed with the adorable Alex! Alex and Hannah played SO well together! It was a beautiful sunny day the day of their visit so we spent the majority of it outside. We also tried out Hannah's ladybug pool for the first time.

This made me laugh and like any good mommy I quickly grabbed my camera first. Hannah's hat had gotten wet in the pool so my poor sweetie couldn't see anything. Oops! I took the pic then took it off to dry.

After our swim we enjoyed lunch on the deck.

Sorry Jill! Realized afterwards that all my pics were of the kids. Surprise, surprise!

Since our first visitors, I purchased a little patio set that will make it much easier to eat outside. It's just a nice size and we've already had company over for lunch. Wow! In the two weeks since the back yard has been transformed, we've already used it more than I did in the entire 14 years before! Thanks again Tim!!

These pictures just make me laugh. It took me about 45 mins to put the patio set together so I pulled Hannah's high chair close to the screen door and she dined while mommy did her thing. When I went in it looked like a small tornado had gone through! :o) It was time to clean the high chair and floor and then an early bath for my sticky baby girl sporting a banana rinse in her hair!

Another afternoon of pool fun

I know that we'll have many more fun times in the courtyard. Yeah!!

A Trip to the Zoo

Last week Hannah and I enjoyed a fun day at the zoo with the gal who will be caring for Hannah once I return to work (sniff!!) in mid-August. It was a sunny, hot day and we had a great time with friends touring the zoo.

The gorillas made me laugh! They were running and jumping and all Hannah kept saying was 'Ball! Ball!' When she looked into the cage as there was a large ball in there for them to play with.

Hannah and I stayed for lunch when the others headed home for naps. Hannah decided to nap at the zoo so I enjoyed wandering around and seeing more animals. Polar Bears. Mommy's favourite!

Sleepy XiaoFen

Mommy made her way back across the park in search of a Beaver Tail! Mmmmmm!!! I was going to share but Hannah slept through it so mommy had to eat her portion too. This just means we'll have to go back sometime so that Hannah can enjoy her first taste of a yummy Beaver Tail!

She woke up before we left so we spent a little time playing in the water park. We didn't have enough time left in our day to change Hannah into her bathing suit so she had fun splashing (read: soaking us!) in the water park fountains.

Hannah and I were out of town with my parents on Father's Day so our family celebrated last weekend. We had a wonderful time together and it was exciting to finally have our entire family together for the very first time!

Hail, hail the gangs all here!!

Just Because She's Adorable!!

We've been busy, busy lately so sadly the blog has been a bit neglected. I'll see what I can do to get some posts up soon.

Until then, here's a pic of my sweetie enjoying supper. I'd given her crackers with Laughing Cow cheese on them which she thought were pretty fabu! When my back was turned she decided to wear one in the middle of her forehead. It was being consumed when I turned around again but I laughed as I saw the circle of cheese that remained!

A Wonderful Trip Down Memory Lane

This evening I was working on pics to send to China with our 6 month follow-up report. I love this combination of pictures and each one brings back such wonderful memories that I thought I'd share them with you too. I don't believe any of them are new to the blog but there's just something special about seeing them all together.

November 21, 2009. Home one week and a couple of pics from an amazing photo shoot a friend did for us. Hmmmm...don't think I ever did that post. Will need to work on that one.
